So for starters, yes I know there are probably better music Anime. However for me, being a guy who doesn’t watch many music Anime. I personally think that Hibike! Euphonium is the best music, drama Anime I’ve ever seen. Today, I give you my argument as to why I think Hibike! Euphonium, is the best Music Anime.

“After swearing off music due to an incident at the middle school regional brass band competition, euphonist Kumiko Oumae enters high school hoping for a fresh start. As fate would have it, she ends up being surrounded by people with an interest in the high school brass band. Kumiko finds the motivation she needs to make music once more with the help of her bandmates, some of whom are new like novice tubist Hazuki Katou; veteran contrabassist Sapphire Kawashima; and band vice president and fellow euphonist Asuka Tanaka. Others are old friends, like Kumiko’s childhood friend and hornist-turned-trombonist Shuuichi Tsukamoto, and trumpeter and bandmate from middle school, Reina Kousaka.
However, in the band itself, chaos reigns supreme. Despite their intention to qualify for the national band competition, as they currently are, just competing in the local festival will be a challenge—unless the new band advisor Noboru Taki does something about it.

My Argument
So I’ve been a fan of this Anime since the first season (There are currently 2 seasons). I love everything about it, the friendships, the heartache, the struggles, the fun moments, the art, story, and characters. This Anime focuses on the story of a broken music department on the ropes.
With the department threatening to be closed and students who don’t want it to close, the art teacher does what she can do, hires a proper teacher who could one day lead them to the grand tournament.
But why do I think this Anime deserves to be called the best Music Anime? Well being an Anime from the studio Kyoto Animation, really does help. The story is really well-played out and the development throughout the first season carries into the second season. There are also many funny moments which makes for some really entertaining episodes.
The art style is beautiful, amazingly animated and I believe is one of the best-animated series of 2015. To go along with this beautiful animation they have amazing characters and personalities within the Anime. All of which just works together, there aren’t any clashing personalities or times when I thought “Oh these personalities don’t work for the Anime”. There was absolutely none of that, it was just beautifully executed. Not to mention as this was a music Anime, the songs and music played were pleasing to the ear.
Rolling into the second season, I thought the Anime was even better than the original series. Not only was the animation more extravagant, the music was a lot better, the friendships get better defined and most importantly the story develops, even more, become this beautiful piece of work.
It quickly becomes one of the best stories to be animated within 13 episodes. The time and quality of each episode will leave you in awe, the attention to detail and the course the story goes in branching off into other characters’ backstories. Makes it wonderful. The story branches off into the characters through the first season you come to love, the struggle they had/are currently going through is really genuine. They are not some crazy complex struggle but are struggles that normal everyday people go through, it normalizes the anime and makes it relatable to the viewer. All the while making music the release that helps each character move about in the daily lives.
I believe this Anime met the expectations that were placed upon the Anime, I also believe that this Anime is deserving of being called the best music Anime. (Just so you know, the reason why everything is so vague is that I don’t want to spoil anything). It is also an Anime I think everyone should watch simply because it has the best story and is also one of the best developed at it too. Definitely, a must watch! #BringOneSeason3
