Having grown up ridiculed for his bizarre name, Nasa Yuzaki strives to be remembered for something more. Fortunately, it seems he’s on the right path, ranking first in the nation’s mock exams and set to enter his high school of choice.
However, everything changes in a single night when he notices a girl across the street on his way home. Enraptured by her overwhelming cuteness, it’s love at first sight for Nasa. But in his infatuated daze, he fails to notice the approaching danger speeding down the road and finds himself at death’s door. Barely alive thanks to the girl’s intervention, Nasa musters the courage to confess his love to her, fearing she might otherwise vanish from his life. She accepts his proposal on one condition: marriage, to which Nasa gladly accepts before passing out from his injuries. Upon waking, however, the girl is nowhere to be found.
After recovering from his injuries, Nasa tosses his previous ambitions aside and dedicates his life to finding the girl that captured his heart, yet several years pass to no avail. But one night, when an unexpected visitor comes knocking on his door, Nasa finds himself facing a woman that would forever change his world: his wife.Written by MAL Rewrite of MyAnimeList.net
Who would have thought that the a person’s attractiveness would be the cause of something literally almost life ending, but also one that leads to immediate marriage? That is the premise we’re presented with. Nasa, the male protagonist, a former teen, who had incredible grades whilst in high school, gets hit by a truck he did not see because he was mesmerized by a girl he saw on the opposite side of the road he walked, one winter night. Literally love at first sight, being blinded by love he crosses the road and gets struck by a truck. Tsukasa, who was the girl who Nasa saw and ‘loved’ saved him from death, I think three times within the opening few minutes.
Why three times? (Could have been only two times, I’m writing as I watch), is because the power of love Nasa felt for Tsukasa was so strong that he kept getting up and literally ran off his life threatening injuries just so he could say “I love you” to a person he didn’t know and only met because he looked across the street from him. After professing his love for her, Nasa does what every normal dude would do when they’re suffering from life threatening injuries. He asked the girl whom he just met to go out with him, to which Tsukasa agrees but only under one condition, that he marries her. Nasa agrees to that pact before succumbing to his injuries.
One thing I will point out, is that when they meet later on, after Nasa quits school, chooses to work and live alone; that Nasa is only 18 and Tsukasa, the girl who he agreed to marry is 16. Wait, what? Yes, that is true and I personally found that to be a little weird in my opinion, we only find that out when they’re filling out the marriage application.
Little is known about Tsukasa. As this is episode 1, what did I expect? The worlds to fall and for everything, every known secret to be revealed? Obviously not. But it begs the question who is she? Does she not have anything else better to do? No parents to tell her off? Who knows, we have many questions. I assume some of that will be answered as time goes on, but she’s an interesting character to say the least. When comparing the two characters, obviously there is the age difference, but the personalities are like night and day. Nasa is more skittish and rash, he acts more on emotion than he does with his head. While Tsukasa is more levelheaded and I think, well organized. This was on display during the episode when she came prepared with the marriage application as well as all the other documentations they needed in order to complete the application.
She also knew that the place where you go to submit the marriage application is open 24 hours a day, and that each ward office offers a different wedding gift depending on where you went. To know that, at her age is very interesting, she must be very smart or very vigilant to had noticed that. It could also be a combination of the two. As the next episode we’re about to see, whenever that airs will be in regards to their first night together. I think the pacing of this anime will be rather slow. Episode 2 will be an extension of episode 1, because we’re left off with them walking back home after submitting their marriage application.
Weirdly enough, I am looking forward to the next episode, I wonder what will come next. As this anime is a shounen rom-com, I’m sure it’ll be something funny and entertaining. Which as you all know by now, is something I like!
