Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka? Bloom | Episode 1

Woo! The third season of Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka?, is here and I love it! I’ve seen every season of Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka?, so I, for one, am excited for the third installment in this Slice of Life and Comedy adventure that we have here.

This anime does not need any introduction. If you’ve been following this anime and have watched every episode as I have. Then I can safely say that the third season is a continuation of the previous two seasons. We’re back to watching Rize, Kokoa, and Chino’s adventures with the duo of Sharo and Chiya, and most importantly, the old man, the rabbit lookin’ like plushy, tippy, adding to the overall slice of life aspect of this anime.

Something I ignored in the past was the surroundings of the anime itself. During the episode, the four friends participated in a brocante, something I had to google because I’ll be honest, I didn’t know what that was. Which in hindsight, I didn’t need to do that because you could tell by the setting they were in, sitting on a stretched out matt on the ground in-between other makeshift booths, that they were participating in basically a yard sale or second-hand shop sort of deal where everyone in their town participated. I brought up the anime’s surroundings because while they were at the event itself, everyone in the background was all female characters, never once did I see an outline of a male figure.

Which realistically speaking here, is strange, almost creepy. I cannot complain. If it works, then it works.

While the first episode didn’t have much that happened, apart from the brocante, the four designing their summer outfits for the Rabbit House and Kokoa’s magic show at the very end of the anime. One may say that this episode was, in fact, boring. However, I beg a differ. I hold this series very close to me, so I am incredibly biased, and I mean, why not? This anime series reminds me a lot about Yuru Yuri, another anime series that I love. It carried the same characters and the same setting, but I believe that there has been some growth between our characters in my heart of hearts.

For example, during the first season, Chino was very timid and shy around Kokoa because she was very outgoing and energetic. While Kokoa, she used to be more spontaneous and often had what I call “cute panic attacks” around Chino simply because she was so cute. The two still carry those same character traits, but for Chino, she’s not as shy or timid around kokoa anymore. I feel like she’s grown to be more accepting of her and her antics, while Kokoa has slowly toned down her “crazes” for Chino and is gradually starting to pick up that ‘big sister’ trait. Then again, it could just me speaking nonsense into existence, so who knows really.

For some, this series Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka? Maybe one that is boring and holds no real value. I think the real key here is to enjoy the light comedy and the different quirks of each character. Once you’re able to do that, then this anime, which I consider to be wholehearted, is one I think anyone can enjoy. The light comedy of Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka? is very refreshing. This anime is sort of in the middle, and I quite like that.

I am looking forward to all the other future episodes!
