Episode Eight Thoughts

One thing I will definitely miss about this anime when it does finish is the OP. It’s so good and so catchy; I love those types of OPs. Anyway, let’s move onto my thoughts on the episode.

I will admit that over the now eight episodes, Nagatoro as a character has slowly started to grow on me. Is she still a little bit annoying? Yeah, however, that has been the issue I’ve had with the anime as a whole. I’ve grown over the episodes to accept this as reality, although at first, it was very had to accept. At the end of the day, it is what it is; this is just how the anime is. Accepting and seeing past what I consider to be a major hindrance for me finally allowed for a character like Nagatoro to slowly grow on me.

While her antics are all, by design, intentional. Nagatoro is like that person who doesn’t know how to properly convey their feelings to someone they’re attracted to, so they instead tease the heck out of them and only them. From time to time, dropping hints that they like them. Whether intentional or not, it’s definitely working because Hachiouji is starting to appreciate her more and is becoming more conscious of Nagatoro.

Another thing I enjoyed about the episode was that there were more instances where the two of them got embarrassed together, instead of it being just one person, which oftentimes was Hachiouji. This was something I liked because when Hachiouji got embarrassed, you’d have Nagatoro there laughing her head off. Still, since there were many scenes where they got embarrassed together, we got a comical reaction from both of them. Seeing an embarrassed Nagatoro is oddly satisfying and amusing. It’s sweet justice if I do say so myself. Ideally, in a perfect world, Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san, should have been like this from the start. I feel like it would have been better for the anime as a whole. If the remaining few episodes are similar in nature to episode eight, then I’ll be one content man when everything is said and done.

Without a doubt, episode eight for me is a solid B.
