Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san | Episode 10 Review

Episode Ten Thoughts

Episode ten is definitely one of the more perverted episodes of the anime. Was that something I liked however? Not really just because of how blatant everything was. Is Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san as a whole, perverted? Yeah and episode ten is where they make it real obvious. No restrictions, nothing, they just ran with it. And to be completely honest, nothing about the first half of the episode was worth watching. I am someone who likes stuff to have a natural flow, anything that feels remotely forced is a major turn off for me and that’s what I disliked most about the first half of the episode. It was forced.

The only real thing about the first half of the episode that I liked was at the ever end of the segment (see picture on the right), a reference to DBZ. Which was something I found mildly funny and entertaining. Not entirely sure why but the fact that they made a reference to another anime that would have no connection otherwise was pretty cool. That has always been something I liked for some reason, whenever an anime makes a reference to another anime just because they can. I wish more anime did that because it’s an Easter egg. If you’re not paying close enough attention you’ll miss out on the reference, I enjoy those types of things in anime.

Anyway, I am going to talk about the second half of the episode, which as many of you know will always be the better half. If you’re like me and you’re following Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san, episode by episode. Then you’ll agree that the anime for the most part has been pretty uneventful. If you’re also one of those people who skim through the manga first before watching the anime, then, like me you’ve been waiting for the cultural festival chapters to be animated. On an aside, I love how all major events happen at a school festival, or summer festival etc. You will always know that something important is about to happen.

The latter half of the episode sets the stage for the episodes to come, which will surround Hachiouji v. Sana Sunomiya and their who can out art who. Sana (Art Club President), looking to disband the club because of Nagatoro and friends, while Hachiouji is fighting to keep it alive (with the help of Nagatoro). Not only am I looking forward to seeing those chapters animated because I think they’ll make for some good entertainment, I am as equally excited to see how the showdown between Hachiouji and Sana will help develop the relationship between Nagatoro and her senpai. After all, she was the one who wanted the club to stay alive for Hachiouji’s sake more than her own.

I am sure that Nagatoro does feel bad, it’s because of her and company that the Club President feels the need to disband the club. So her fighting to keep it, is a way to make up for what she’s done but to also make it up to Hachiouji because throughout the series, he’s been nothing but a passenger forced to the will of Nagatoro and friends.

Believe it or not, I am looking forward to the remaining two episodes of the anime.
