Shiroi Suna no Aquatope | Episode 12 and 13 Review

I feel bad for Kukuru, the Gama Gama was her connection to her parents and sister that she never got to see. To me that’s sad and it’s still hard for me to accept that the Gama Gama is now closed forever. Anyway the Tingaara is massive. I’ve never been to an aquarium before so I don’t know what the experience is like, so for me, it’s hard to believe that aquariums can get this big. It’s also hard for me to believe that Kukuru, who is someone extremely passionate about animals and is someone who is very hands-on is given an office job away from something she enjoys most; caring for the animals.
Whoever came up with that decision should be fired! But it’s something I understand though, something Kukuru lacks is experience in all other aspects relating to the running and operation of an aquarium. Yes, she knows how to handle animals and is highly proficient in that, however, if we talk about the behind the scenes work. That is something she lacks in. If Kukuru had better understanding of the behind the scenes, maybe the Gama Gama would have been able to stick around a little longer, but who knows?
I related to episode twelve and thirteen because we’ve all been in situations where we’re removed from something we’re most comfortable in and are thrown into an environment where you haven’t got a clue as to what’s going on. Dealing with new people, surroundings and tasks; and every step of the way you’re questioning whether or not you can really do it, or if you made a mistake. Kukuru is going through that stage right now and it’s pretty interesting I will admit

That being said, Kukuru has the support of everyone who had worked at the Gama Gama because literally everyone moved to the Tingaara for work. Which in itself is highly convenient but also very unrealistic, or could it? As long as you have connections anything is possible I guess.
Furthermore, this Chiyu character seems to be the antagonist. She’s a very cold individual and I don’t like how she’s been treating Kukuru throughout both episodes. I’m going to be real, if I had to work with someone like her, I would do everything possible on my end not to interact with this person even if she’s my co-worker. I ain’t about them negative vibes, I don’t need that in my life, give me that positivity. Something I do see happening though is that Chiyu will grow to better understand and appreciate Kukuru because right now you can definitely feel the tension. If that doesn’t happen though and Chiyu continues to dislike Kukuru then I hope that Kukuru rises through the ranks at the Tingaara as quickly as possible just to rub it into Chiyu’s face. Yes, I am petty like that.
Another possibility I see is that by the end of the series, Kukuru will either be up there in the Tingaara. Or she’ll go back home and re-open the Gama Gama with the knowledge she’s gained from working at the Tingaara. The latter is the most likely outcome, in my opinion. I hope that happens to, I mean it makes sense to me atlast!
