Banished from the Hero’s Party | Episode Seven: Downhill from here.

Episode seven was just very disappointing. There wasn’t a point during the episode where I felt entertained or thought whatever the characters were talking about was remotely interesting. Episode seven was a mess because many things happened, however, none of it felt connected at all. It seemed as though everything in the episode happened for different reasons and it’s because of this, episode seven also felt very choppy and disorganized.

We have this Bighawk group causing problems, Danan planning whatever he is planning, and there’s my mystery of what happened to Ademi. To top it all off, we have Ruti at the end of the episode and Red and Rit having their lovey-dovey moment also towards the end. These are all the things that happen throughout episode seven. We have multiple stories going on, many of which won’t be answered/resolved until the next episode or the following. You cannot look at all that and say “this was a good episode”, personally I do not see how you can argue that this is the case.

I’m saying this as a person who is also up-to-date with the manga. Unfortunately, despite knowing the outcome, seeing everything animated thus far has been rather disappointing.

It could be that Shin no Nakama ja Nai to Yuusha no Party wo Oidasareta node, Henkyou de Slow Life suru Koto ni Shimashita is a story that doesn’t translate well to anime. However, as I always say, if it’s an anime, someone somewhere in an office thought it was worth it. So maybe the latter episodes of the anime will be something worth watching, but given how slowly and how sloppy each episode has felt, I don’t think that’ll be the case.

Before I end this blog, something I would like to see is Red reunited with Ruti I think that would make for an extremely interesting episode. If they reunite, I’m sure Ruti will go on to explain why she needs him back in the Hero’s party and why he’s important to her. Only for Red to at first reject her advances until eventually the past he had tried to keep away for so long catches up and becomes something he can no longer ignore. If that happens before the end of the anime, I think that would be epic.

Anyway, yeah. I’m not happy with episode seven and neither should you be too!
