Tensai Ouji no Akaji Kokka Saisei Jutsu | First Impressions: The Art of War.

It ain’t easy being a genius…

Prince Wein is ready to commit treason. And who can blame him? Faced with the impossible task of ruling his pathetic little kingdom, this poor guy just can’t catch a break! But with his brilliant idea of auctioning off his country, this lazy prince should be able to retire once and for all. Or that was the plan…until his treasonous schemes lead to disastrous consequences—namely, accidental victories and the favor of his people!

Tensai Ouji no Akaji Kokka Saisei Jutsu has been a little bit of a mixed bag but generally, I think the anime itself has left a good first impression on me. Tensai Ouji no Akaji Kokka Saisei Jutsu is also one of two anime I’m currently watching that relates to a kingdom, the second anime in question is Genjitsu Shugi Yuusha no Oukoku Saikenki. If I were to compare both anime to one another, I would say that Tensai Ouji no Akaji Kokka Saisei Jutsu has definitely been the better anime so far.

Something I liked about the first few episodes of Tensai Ouji no Akaji Kokka Saisei Jutsu was that it was very action-packed. In the first and second episodes of the anime, we’ve already seen war and battle. To me, that’s enough to keep the viewer entertained.

That being said, I believe that the characters, in particular, Wein, leave much to be desired. To me, he feels very generic. Wein is like an over-the-top and eccentric version of Souma. Obviously, their goals are different. Souma is more about improving quality of life while Wein is all about selling his kingdom for as much as possible so he could live a normal private life. To me, that’s pretty uninteresting given that the last anime I watched where the character wanted to live a normal life wasn’t all that great. Furthermore, Wein’s assistant or his ‘heart’ Ninym, seems to be doing all the heavy lifting right now. You can make the argument that she’s the ‘shadow crown princess’ despite not descending from royalty. Their relationship isn’t out of the ordinary, they both rely on and support one another, and they’re pretty much attached at the hip.

Anyway going back to what I liked so far about the anime. Not sure how many of you are also watching the anime but given I write my posts long after the airing of the episode I’m sure you have already seen it. In the third episode, we’re presented with a new character, Lowellmina Earthworld. Who comes to Wein and Ninym, her former classmates, with a proposal to Wein. To help her seize her country’s throne putting an end to a power struggle within her family. We are left off with a little bit of foreshadowing as to what’s to come and that’s something I enjoyed most because now I’m looking forward to what comes next.

Overall, I thought the first three episodes of Tensai Ouji no Akaji Kokka Saisei Jutsu has left a pretty good first impression on me. Especially with regards to how episode three ended, I think it sets the stage for something pretty exciting and something I will be looking forward to watching.

I’m enjoying it. He seems to have strayed from strictly selling his kingdom and has gotten very serious.
