Tensai Ouji no Akaji Kokka Saisei Jutsu | Episode Nine: Wein’s Weakness.

I find it mildly entertaining that Wein has this sixth sens. Somehow he always has a sneaking suspicion that those around him are trying to kill him and is almost always one step ahead of them. Maybe he just has insane intelligence or he’s able to pick out any irregularities, but definitely this skill isn’t normal and to be honest, it’s actually pretty cool. But that is neither here nor there.
Episode nine of Tensai Ouji no Akaji Kokka Saisei Jutsu wasn’t all that interesting, allow me to tell you why.
Wein’s Weakness.

Similar to its counterpart (but not so similar anime), Genjitsu Shugi Yuusha no Oukoku Saikenki Part 2. Episode nine is a political episode, one with a lot of conversation. Which at this point, is okay. If I were to compare these two anime, then I prefer Tensai Ouji no Akaji Kokka Saisei Jutsu on the basis that has a little less chatter. Royal marriages, factions, succession crisis. This arc concerning Lowa has had a little bit of everything, so all-in-all there isn’t much to complain about.
But you know me, episodes that have a lot of chatter normally isn’t my thing.
Anyway, episode nine despite still painting Wein as this exceptional human-being, has shown us that he does have a weakness. The man that I thought was all eternal does have a flaw and we actually saw that for once. Who would have thought that someone as mighty as Wein would have such a basic weakness, overworking.
Which is weird because if you really think about it, he’s been working everyday since the start of the series. You would have thought Wein being overburdened with work would’ve eventually shown itself in the earlier episodes, but nope. We have to wait towards the end of the episode for Wein to finally admit that he has overworked himself.
I guess you can also say that he has a weakness for his little sister and for Ninym, but I personally don’t see them as actual weaknesses. We all know that Ninym can very well handle her own quite well and like episode eight, episode nine has shown that Wein’s little sister, Falanya is a lot more capable than most people thought. But anyway, yeah.
Overall, episode nine was a pretty chatty episode and if I’m honest, the entertainment value wasn’t all that high for me so I cannot give episode nine that good of score. 6/10

I’m thinking Wein’s “overwork” is more than that and may become important later.
