RikeKoi | Episode One: Too much ‘love’ for me.

The first episode of Rikei ga Koi ni Ochita no de Shoumei shitemita. Heart had a little too much love for me. You know that feeling when you’re watching but you cannot help but feel uncomfortable on the grounds that what you’re currently watching is too cringe. To me, that was how I felt watching the first episode of Rikei ga Koi ni Ochita no de Shoumei shitemita‘s second season.

The first episode of the new season introduced a couple that puts Yukrimura and Himuro to shame. Like, I don’t think that they (as a couple) will be able to top the intimacy and affection levels of Suiu Fujiwara and Chris Floret. The only reason why I think that the Yukrimura and Himuro duo won’t ever top this new couple is because Suiu is that one oversexualized character that pushes everything to the ‘next level’ without actually reaching that next level. If you know what I mean.
Like there were some pretty questionable things and gestures that she made over the episode that had me questioning this anime. I didn’t know what to feel to be honest with you, did I find it entertaining? Or did I find it cringe? I think it was a little bit of both to be completely honest. I found myself laughing, but I think that was because I also felt very uncomfortable at the same time. So I guess it was me responding to the amount of cringe I felt while watching.
I’m a firm believer of the notion that the first episode is the episode the sets the stage and mood for the episodes to come. Since Suiu and Chris were a couple whose intimacy and affection for each other was put on full display for the public, I think that is something we can expect from Yukrimura and Himuro. I think this because while our two characters were like me, cringing at how affectionate Suiu and Chris were towards each other. The episode definitely gave me the impression that they (Yukrimura and Himuro) didn’t want to be beaten. Which in itself is mildly amusing because Yukrimura and Himuro are not yet formally a couple.
It’s also still crazy to me that this unofficial yet official couple in Yukrimura and Himuro are still going about their love experiment. Trying to sort out their feelings for one another in the most scientific way possible is just so them. Even if they don’t identify as a couple just yet, the fact that they don’t want to lose to Suiu and Chris and not to mention that they also decided to peck each other on the lips. Yukrimura and Himuro sure act like a genuine couple to me. I mean, let’s be real here, people don’t go about kissing each other for the fun of it if there isn’t some sort of connection. I could be wrong!
Despite how uncomfortable I felt at times, I am looking forward to the second season of Rikei ga Koi ni Ochita no de Shoumei shitemita.
