Ansatsu Kizoku | Episode One: Quite the first episode.

Now that the Spring 2022 season is all but done, I now have the time to tackle a few anime chilling on my “on-hold” list. One of the anime I’ve decided to take on today is Ansatsu Kizoku and you know what? The first episode was actually pretty cool. Let me tell you about it.

I haven’t watched an Isekai Anime anime in a hot minute, so I decided that today was the day. Today was a good day to watch Ansatsu Kizoku and the first episode sure did leave a good impression on me. Lugh Tuatha Dé (prior to him being reincarnated) was such a badass in his previous life. Although this is the last time we’ll see him as an adult in real world, the aura he gave was just fantastic. Fearless. Ironic that the organization he was born and raised him ultimately betrayed him, but he was accepting of his fate nonetheless and that’s badass.

Based on the first episode alone, the beginning scene we see that auction taking place. Where the auction is about selling girls off to wealthy men. Which in itself is horrific. But it lends itself to the view by showing the female characters that will be involved in the greater story. But it also shows Lugh carrying out a hit mission. I can only assume that the girls that were there in that scene will be involved one way or another with Lugh in his new life.

Whether or not that is true, remains to be seen.

I think the biggest concern I have, based on the first episode any way is that this new world he finds himself in will be very fantasy-like. Now every Isekai always has someone going into a fantasy world. But there are different tiers of fantasy worlds. For example, you have GATE and Youjo Senki on one side, Re:Zero and No Game No Life on the other. You know what I mean?

Some Isekai lean more heavily on the fantasy side than others and it seems as though Ansatsu Kizoku will be leaning more into the fantasy side of things. Is that a good or bad thing? That reminds to be seen. Typically with the anime that lean more to the fantasy tend to have a harem vibe to them, which I assume will be the case here.

Anyway, one thing is for certain though, when this “goddess” reincarnates you and tasks you with “…killing the here”, I expect there to be action and lots of it. But I won’t get my hopes up just yet.
