Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai! Double | They’re back with a vengeance.

Now I’ll be honest, it feels like it has ben so long since I’ve watched the first season of, Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai!, that I don’t remember what had happened leading up to season two. Which probably is a good thing because I won’t know what to expect — a clean slate.

Let’s just say, me forgetting everything about the first season has made the first episode of this new season, Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai! Double, more enjoyable and a lot more entertaining. There was something about the first episode that made everything feel very refreshing.

I think it has to do with the fact that Uzaki-chan and Sakurai are polar opposites of one another. Two dominate figures trying to co-exist. Obviously they go about their way of life differently, as we already know Uzaki-chan is probably the more straightforward and is definitely the more humorous of the two. But that doesn’t stop Sakurai from being able to put his mark on the first episode.

While Uzaki is still an annoyance to Sakurai, it’s nice to see that he’s gotten used to her antics. Even if it’s something he doesn’t want to admit. It’s one of those love-hate relationships, Sakurai hates Uzaki for being a constant thorn in his side. However, at the same time, if it wasn’t for her Uzaki’s life would have been a lot less eventful. I’m sure this is the same for Uzaki.

Episode one was great because we jumped right back into the thick of things, we picked up where we left off. If I remember correctly, they kind of (maybe) started to develop feelings for one another. Whether or not that materializes into something, I don’t know. I assume it will eventually, as if with all like-minded anime. However, I think it’ll be different because the characters are different in every way imaginable.

I also enjoyed the fact that the first episode wasn’t dull or boring. I thought it was fairly eventful, somehow it managed to bring in all the characters and give them sufficient time to reestablish their presence in the anime. Scene after scene we were shown something pretty entertaining and it’s refreshing.

After last season (Summer 2022), to be able to something I want to watch and it being entertaining for once is very refreshing. I think I’ll be enjoying this season, hopefully.
