This anime for sure is a strange one from the start. There isn’t really much that we’re shown during the first episode, what we are presented with, however, are the two main characters of the anime. Hana Uzaki (feel protagonist) and Shinichi Sakurai (male protagonist). Both of which have vastly different personalities. From the start Hana’s personality is the social butterfly; simply put a very extroverted person. While Shinichi is the exact opposite, one that is very introverted. But what happens when the two meet at the same university? You’re bound to see a clash of philosophies and personalities. Which I think will be interesting to see if I am being completely honest.

What is for certain though, is that this isn’t the first time the two have met. We find out briefly that the two went to the same high school together and were both part of their high school’s swim team. So I think it’s safe to assume, especially for Hana that seeing her former high school ‘senior’ alone the majority of the time, when they used to hang out a ton back when they were on the swim team was a bit of a shock to her. Which is something that is evident during the anime. For instance, after having seeing enough loneliness for her friend, she decides to intrude on his introverted life and takes it upon herself to make him, I guess, less isolated. So what does she do? She annoys him!

That I believe is the premise for the anime. It’s something I feel as though I’ve experienced before, so my expectations for the anime is kind of low. However, that being said, It’ll be interesting to see the progression Shinichi and Hana make in regards to their friendship. Sill Hana’s infectious personality finally open Shinichi up to being more outgoing? Only time will tell!
