Finally. SNAFU 3 has graced the Anime world. What I love most (considering I’ve only seen the first episode as of writing this), is that it picks up where we left off in the second season. Which is something I absolutely love. We learn about Yukinon’s internal struggle and that her only request is that the two whom she holds dear to her, Hikki and Yui continue to stay by her side. We have yet to know what will come as a result of Yukino’s internal “struggle” but it sure will be interesting to see what happens next with her and her family.

There were a few things I missed so much about this series in general was Hikki‘s straightforward and at time blunt personality. It sure isn’t something you see much nowadays, especially in regard to a male protagonist. So being able to experience that again was nice. The other thing I missed a ton was Hikki and his sister, Komachi’s brother-sister dynamic. It was put on full display for the majority of the first episode and it was awesome to watch. You can tell those two have grown together and have a really strong bond when Komachi thanks her brother for taking care of her. I really thought that was a nice touch to end the first episode.

Also, what I thought was pretty cool about the anime is that the ending was sang by the voice actors of Yukino and Yui (Saori Hayami) & (Nao Touyama) respectively) that part in particular was dope to see. I am always a fan of voice actors within the anime itself singing their own OP or ED, it just adds that little extra touch to the overall feel of the anime. Something that I think should be welcomed more often in other anime. It is for that reason, that I genuinely thought that the ED sung by them “Diamond no Jundo (ダイヤモンドの純度)” is 100 times better than the OP. Furthermore, the animation during the ED was of both Yukino and Yui showing off the close bond they have with one another, just added to the vibe of the ED song altogether, just a really really nice touch.

Apart from those two scenes which I mentioned today, nothing much really happened during the anime. Which to me felt really abnormal for a 24 minute episode; but in all actuality it was roughly a 20 minute episode give or take 1-2 minutes. TLDR, it felt extremely short for some reason and that’s the only real beef I had with the first episode, I wanted more, but I wasn’t given more!
