Komi-san wa, Comyushou desu. 2nd Season | Episode Two: Cat-like.

Episode two was a cat-like episode for Komi-san wa, Comyushou desu. 2nd Season. Allow me to share my thoughts.

I do not think that episode two was a bad episode by any stretch of the imagination. As I’ve said multiple times now, the Komi-san wa, Comyushou desu. series stakes its claim on it being an episodic series. But I cannot help but think that the various arcs a little too short and a little too random. Maybe it’s just the style that I’m finding hard to adapt to. I believe I had a similar kind of issue with the first season as well. There is just something about how the episode is constructed that really doesn’t sit well with me, but oh well, you’ve got to make due with what you have.

All that being said, episode two was the first episode of the Komi-san wa, Comyushou desu. series where I felt like the various segments which made up the episode were in someway connected. How were they connected? As you can probably tell by today’s blog post title, it was very feline orientated.

Komi-san’s connection with her feline side is very much interesting. As she is a person whose personality resembles that of a cat, it only makes sense that her habits resemble that of her feline counterparts and that Komi-san also has a love for cats too. I haven’t really given it much thought, as to why Komi-san’s personality resembles that of a feline, but now I understand (well I think anyway). As I don’t own any pets, I cannot speak from experience, but I can only assume that cats are one of those animals that take a little bit to warm up to their person. However, once that connection is made they become devoted to their person.

I believe this is the case for Komi-san because at the beginning you cannot really read her. It took a while for Komi-san to warm up to her classmates, but once she felt comfortable with her surroundings and the people wanting to be her friend. Then Komi-san because someone who wanted to hang with her friends and enjoyed being around them. I think episode two if anything, serves as an episode that shows how far Komi-san has come as a character, she’s now starting to warm up to the people she’s in class with and is now starting to do things on her own.

However, apart from that. Episode two wasn’t really something I found myself really enjoying. Again, it may just come down to how the episode is structured, but there was something about episode two that made me feel like there was something missing. Hopefully, the best is still yet to come.
